Update: photos, voice messages and stories

A month after events launched, something jumped out at us. In your event group chats, you share a ton of photos with each other, a night out, a brunch, a festival. Except we realized two things: there was no way to download them (they stayed stuck in the app), and sending several meant sending them one by one. In a group of 10-15 people sharing 20 photos from one night, that gets old fast.

We fixed it. And we used the chance to knock out a few other things we'd been meaning to ship.

Send and keep your photos

You can now send several photos in one go, in DMs and in your event group chats. And photos people share with you can now be downloaded straight from the conversation to keep on your end.

Clearer voice messages

Voice message audio quality has been improved. For a lot of people, a voice message says what a text never will, might as well have it sound good.

Your events and your meetups, in a story

Two things here.

First, if you post a story about your event on Instagram or Facebook and tag @purple.application, you earn 10 diamonds. Easy to do, and it helps more people discover Purple events.

Second, the feature we're most excited to launch: the Memory Box. From a conversation, a button lets you generate a keepsake image of how you met, your two photos photobooth-style, how many swipes each of you did before finding the other, how many messages you've exchanged, the date you became friends. A card made to be shared as a story.

Same rule: post it as a story on Instagram or Facebook tagging @purple.application, and you earn 10 diamonds.

Reporting: tell us more

Reporting a profile now includes a free text field, so you can tell us exactly what's wrong. More context for us, fairer handling for you.
