Update: Events in the Spotlight 💜
Purple
August 19, 2026
Since they launched, events have become one of the beating hearts of Purple. But they stayed a bit set apart, tucked away in their own tab. With this update, we're bringing them out into the open, front and center everywhere they belong: in your swipe feed, on profiles, in conversations.
Events, right in your swipe feed
You no longer have to go looking for events on your own. While you swipe, an event card now shows up between profiles from time to time: an event happening near you, to discover at a glance.
No need to leave your swipe flow to explore what's going on around you.
Events, visible on profiles
A girl's profile now shows the events she's organizing and the ones she's attending. It's a new way to get a sense of who she is before you even talk to her: what she likes doing, whether she's the type to host brunches or join afterworks.
It also gives organizers more visibility, and gives you a good reason to start a conversation: "I saw you're going to that event, want to talk about it?"
The event page has a glow-up
An event page now shows stats: the number of favorites, the number of views. An easy way to see at a glance whether an event is getting attention, and a bit more context before deciding to join.
And if you're organizing an event, or attending one, and want a friend to be there too, you can now invite her directly from that same page, even if she's not on Purple yet. Just share a link, and if she signs up, you're both rewarded with diamonds.
A banner right in your conversations
When you're chatting with someone who's hosting an upcoming event, or attending one, a banner now shows up directly in the conversation. A simple way to turn a DM into an actual meetup, without even having to think about it.
And a faster swipe
Alongside all this, we reworked what happens behind the scenes when you swipe: it's faster, smoother, and several small bugs that could pop up during use have been fixed.
Events were already one of our favorite features. Now, they finally have the place they deserve across the whole app. 💜
Never alone again, see you on Purple?
The app is available on iOS and Android.
